The Society Has a New President: Professor Tatsuya Kusakabe Elected President of the Comparative Education Society of Asia (CESA)

Professor Tatsuya Kusakabe, of the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE), Hiroshima University, has been elected President of the Comparative Education Society of Asia (CESA).

Professor Kusakabe was elected in the presidential election held prior to the 14th CESA Conference, which took place in Islamabad, Pakistan, in November 2025.

As the newly elected President, Professor Kusakabe is expected to provide leadership in further strengthening CESA’s international presence. His priorities include promoting CESA’s bid to host a future World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) World Congress and enhancing the Journal of International Cooperation in Education’s development and international impact, CESA’s affiliated journal.

Under his leadership, CESA aims to deepen academic collaboration among comparative education scholars across Asia and beyond while promoting innovative scholarship from diverse and non-Western perspectives.
